Statement

Nature is solace to my soul. Plain and simple. Be it color, texture, shape, movement or scale - they all affront the senses in a spectacular way. Everyday beauty surrounds us and is begging to be noticed and preserved in our minds and hearts. This primal moment of inspiration moves me to react. So, I take a photo to remember and record the moment. Then, a painting is born via impressionistic results. I’m inspired by Monet, Cassatt, Degas, Cezanne and Van Gogh. Toulouse Lautrec, what can I say, he eloquently captured the mood of his subjects communicated through wonderful gestural drawings. The practice of mark-making in my work reflects that of nature. Spontaneous. Magical. Ever-changing.

CORE VALUES: These five words summarize the how and why I create. At my very core I’m a curious soul and love to do research to explore new techniques. Building a community of like-minded folks and sharing these discoveries through workshops and events is a goal of mine. I intend to use my art to show the beauty that surrounds us in everyday, ordinary life. We only need eyes to see and hearts to feel!
